Release Notes

This version will work with Platform Builder for Compact 2013 in Visual Studio 2012 (Update 2)
as well as CE 6 (VS2005) and Compact 7 (VS2008)
  • Select files for direct inclusion in the OS when built.
  • Select where shortcuts are placed in the OS FileSystem for them
  • During the build of the subproject, the selected files are copied to FlatRelease directory, along with the BIB file etc, for inclusion in the OS build.
  • A .inf file is also generated along with the subproject for .cab file generation:
    • When the subproject is built the .inf is also copied to the FlatRelease directory and the cab file is built, and is located in the FlatRelease directory
    • Can then copy to running OS image and run:
      • >copy \Release\<projectname>.cab .
      • >wceload <projectname>.cab

New This Version( 4.0)

FULL Support for Compact 2013 MinShell menu
When the Compact 2013 MinShell (Codeplex) is specified as the Compact 2013 OS shell, at start up MinShell registry keys are iterated through. These key-values specify applications to make available for selection to run with the MinShell menu. This is a primitive form of a Windows Start Menu. With this version of CEComponentWiz there is an option to generate and include the required registry settings for applications (.exe) included in the generated component Subproject. Components so optioned then are available to be run via the MinShell menu. In V3.1 this was on the Short Cuts menu. In this version it is a separate Checkbox option...You can still do Shortcuts.

Option to not copy files to Resources folder..
If so chosen then when the Subproject is built is sources them from the original location. Useful for including applications built outside of the OS Solution; eg SDK apps.
